Grenache & Syrah
Grapes varieties: Grenache 60% & Syrah 40%
In this cuvee, we use one of the two oldest parcels of Syrah planted in Gigondas by my grand father in the 1966.
Terroir : Limestone and red soil.
Yield: The yield at Gigondas is 35 Hl per hectare, one of the lowest in France.
Vinification:
Our wines are cultivated and vinified in the traditional way and the grapes are harvested by hand, carefully sorted but destemmed. The maceration with the skins lasts 30 to 35 days in order to extract maximum concentration and aromas.
Our Gigondas in not fined or filtered.
Aging: This cuvee is a selection of grapes from old vines. Only several parcels of Grenache are used in the making of this noble wine.
The ageing is done in tanks essentially, in order to enhance the unique and profound character of the soil and grape varieties used, making this a wine of exception.
« We would like people to rediscover the importance of the unique relationship between the soil and a particular grape variety, resulting in a specific style making our wines exceptional and like no others. »
